Going on Ponte Vecchio would normally mean...in my travelette mind...an old bridge, that survived a flood (it actually happened in 1966) and then over the years...a nice view on the lake of full of people at night. Mostly, yes. This is it. But...you find some high values also over there, besides the history it has.

And I mean quite "valuable" values in objects and people :)) Ponte Vecchio is the home, or more likely *tiny homes* of the world's most precious jewelry shops with brands like Chopard, Hublot, Bvlgari, Cellini , Ponte Vecchio Gioielli and many many more. Never have I seen such a beautiful bridge that's defined by layers of tiny houses, each of them presenting sparkly, shinny and expensive accessories for both ladies and men. So if you wanna pick a nice ring or a fancy watch for your precious fashionista lover...this is the place! P.S. You might wanna get your black card with you, because the prices are as bright as the shine of these gems in the sun light :)) On this bridge...I've heard a voice that stood engraved in my mind and soul ever since.
Went one night on Ponte Vecchio to check out the landscape and city lights in Florence, and there was music playing. A very nice song and an amazing voice...I told my friend: "Okay, we'll be walking around in music". :D
But it wasn't quite like this, as we couldn't walk away from the fairy tale atmosphere that was going on. We saw Francesco Bassi over there, playing his guitar, accompanied by his voice and people dancing next to him. One of his covers was Jeff Buckley's "Hallelujah", above.
This man's voice and energy made us stay for two hours on the side walk of Ponte Vecchio, like children watching a masquerade in all its beauty. We were muttering his songs having our eyes filled with joy and kept on head in our palms, astonished and enchanted with the view and hear.
Couples and friends were just dancing like floating in musical vibes, making it seem like heaven...at night.

You can experience all these at night in Florence, as Francesco Bassi has a habit of going out singing on the bridge or in nice locations around the city. Go for the music and for sure you will find him! <3
City lights, calm water, music playing, voice caressing and also romance was turned into forever lasting by love locks on all fences surrounding the Arno River...like in Paris, but on a smaller scale. Just beautiful and magic!
