Shoes love basketball...in Florence?

Visiting Florence is amazing. It's like the kingdom of palaces...and Chianti. I love spelling this word as much as I love drinking the wine along the Arno river or in Piazza della Signoria :))

P.S. You need to taste the traditional Florentine sandwiches also. I had magic in my panini with a bottle of Chianti at All’Antico Vinaio. Great service, cute Italian staff, nice location and tasty food...plus wine :))

When planning the trip in Florence, I found out that there is a fashion history hot spot in Florence, the Salvatore Ferragamo Museum, in Palazzo Spini Feroni. I needed to see that, more than I wanted to see the Pitti Palace and its garden, which are amazing!

But shoes always win for a lady, so before Pitti, I went to Palazzo Spini Feroni, where you can go "step by step" on Salvatore Ferragamo's trail - it's a fashion museum in a historical museum.

Seeing the huge clock at the entrance, already gives you the impression of going back in time...and a pile of shoes in all shapes and colours. They had also a large variety on purple...my favorite...you know :P

I felt like I was exchanging ideas about style with golden names like the Duchess of Windsor, Sofia Loren, Madonna, Bette Davis aaand of course...sweet chic Marylin. <3

I also found out that basketball has some roots in fashion...in

a way :))

Michael Jordan was also one of Ferragamo clients.

Score in fashion...checked! :D

But besides the whole girly wander, poetry stepped in, with a love story. There was the painting of Henry Holiday - Dante meets Beatrice at Ponte Santa Trinità.

Their love story has got over the years, but this time, the romance line is set by their love not being accomplished. Sad but beautiful, as Dante's unfulfilled love led to history in the beauty of writing.

I am posting below the Spini Feroni interactive representation of the painting and I hope you will enjoy bit by bit the path that is being shown for the eye...and that you actually see and feel how colored life can get when love steps in. Enjoy! :)
